Our Curriculum
Our Childcare Nursery Wolverhampton Setting follows the EYFS, which Ofsted used to identify our ‘Good’ rating. The EYFS sets the standards for the learning and development of children aged birth to five years – there 7 areas of learning which are:
Your child will experience a language rich environment; explore sound, rhyme, songs and stories and develop their confidence in expressing their thoughts, feelings and opinions.
Your child will develop fine and gross motor skills, enabling them to become more independent. Children will learn about their body and how to look after it. Children will access the outdoor environment daily and participate in yoga, funky fingers and sensory activities.
Your child will develop a positive sense of themselves; form positive relationships and respect for others; develop social skills and learn how to manage their feelings; understand appropriate behaviour in groups; and have confidence in their abilities.
Starting with simple mark-making and the task of learning to hold a pencil, children develop writing skills through several structured and free-play activities.
Your child will develop an understanding of maths through practical activities.
Your child will explore the world around them through practical activities, such as sowing seeds in their gardens and making good use of their rural environment.
Your child will explore colours and shapes, textiles, models, trying out dance, music-making, and acting out different roles using their imagination.
The safety and security of your child is paramount, we ensure strict access to the nursery, along with that we have a door entry system, allowing us to control the access.
All visitors must sign the visitor’s book on arrival and present photographic identification. They are chaperoned by a member of staff at all times. You'll struggle to find "nursery childcare near me" with stricter standards.
Our staff adhere to strict policies and procedures regarding the authorisation for collection of children. We have a parent sign in / sign out procedure and request any additional guardians / friends who are collected children must bring photo identification and nursery password. Prior notification of a new person collecting needs to be emailed through to the management team.
We have a well-defined Health and Safety Policy in place, with associated procedures designed to guarantee your child’s safety and security at all times. Each of our rooms, as well as our outdoor areas, are fully risk assessed on a regular basis to ensure the Nursery environment is safe and secure.
All employees have passed a strict vetting process through the DBS. It is also compulsory to go through a formal induction process to ensure a safe working environment for staff and children alike. "Managers and staff have a good understanding of how to keep a child safe from harm and recognise possible signs that a child is at risk. They are confident to act on their concerns and know they must report to their local safeguarding partnership swiftly."
